NEED Foundation Overview

The NEED Foundation, founded in 1963, is the oldest community-based, minority, higher education assistance program in Pennsylvania. The Foundation has awarded nearly $24.5 million dollars in scholarships to nearly 20,000 students over the past 52 years.

Dedicated to empowering youth in the Pittsburgh region, NEED provides students with career and college access services in addition to its many scholarship opportunities. NEED offers the following resources:

  • Last Dollar Grants
  • The African American Male Mentoring Initiative (AAMMI)
  • Access to College and Career Education Program (ACE)

NEED helps students unlock the power of education, and meet their highest potential.
