Birmingham Free Clinic Overview

The Birmingham Free Clinic (BFC) has been committed to servicing our region’s uninsured, homeless, low-income and medically vulnerable since 1994. By utilizing an exclusively volunteer team of health providers, the clinic is able to provide comprehensive services including:

  • Physical exams
  • Acute sick visits
  • Medication access and management
  • Preventative care
  • Chronic disease management
  • Specialty care and health education

Through the BFC’s generous volunteer clinicians, health professional students, AmeriCorps National Service members and community partners, the Clinic assists an estimated 1,000 uninsured, disenfranchised, homeless or at-risk patients, with both care and compassion, annually.
