Chuck Cooper Foundation Overview

The Chuck Cooper Foundation is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Charles “Chuck” Cooper, the first African-American drafted into the National Basketball Association, by awarding graduate-level scholarships and providing comprehensive leadership workshops, career development opportunities and professional mentors to African American students.

Through small, personalized relationships, mentors are able to connect students with additional resources such as conferences, fellowships, and employment.

Since 2013, the Foundation has awarded $100, 000 to students and provided countless others with professional opportunities.
