Midwife Center for Birth and Women’s Health Overview
Delivering more than 5,000 babies, The Midwife Center is southwestern Pennsylvania’s only licensed and accredited freestanding birth center. Nurse-Midwives and a nurse practitioner provide prenatal care and childbirth services and primary gynecological care to clients of all ages.
Offering three birth suites, three examination rooms, family kitchen, library, and waiting room; expecting parents have the option to deliver at the Center, or at UPMC Mercy where Midwife Center midwives have admitting privileges and collaborative agreements with physicians for when care needs to be co-managed.
The center accepts most private and public insurance plans and is a member organization of Adagio Health, which enables it to provide gynecological care to clients for free or on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size.
